Hello my beautiful friends! Today we are sharing with you this cute bunny mask we created for our Easter celebrations this year. Bring out those paints, pencils or crayons and get out in the fresh air with your basket to collect some beautiful nature finds.
Nature collecting walk
Our focus for this mask was to decorate it with nature treasures! A few reasons: Nature is simply BEAUTIFUL, every piece is so unique, it is a good sustainable craft choice and it is free! We started our morning off with a walk in the fresh air and sunshine, wandering around the streets collecting any fallen petals, leaves and little twigs. We enjoyed talking about what each piece of nature could be used for to form the shape of a rabbit and we had fun hunting for certain colours. (ALWAYS pink and purple over here haha)

Creating your Easter mask What you'll need:
- Bunny mask template | DOWNLOAD HERE |
- Pen or pencil - Thick paper or cardboard (we used watercolour paper which is thicker than normal paper. Normal paper will be to floppy to hold the nature decorations.)
- Scissors
- Pen
- Hole punch or just something pointy to create two small holes
- Twine
- Paint, paintbrushes, cup of water
- Hot glue gun or regular craft glue (we love using hot glue because it dries instantly)
- Nature treasures including thin twigs or long leaves for the whiskers
- Any other decorations you may want (we added small crystals)
Once the paint on your mask has dried or nearly dry its time to get out those treasures and start to decorate! Audrina wanted to place most of the decorations on the ears and then we found a nice round flower to put on as the nose and used the twigs to create whiskers. I love to use a hot glue gun for most projects because the glue dries instantly, so just help the little hands if they insist on doing it like my missy did or do it yourself and get them to tell you where they would like the decorations placed. Alternatively if you want to make it completely child led, let them use craft glue or glue sticks and just wait for it all to dry before completing the final steps.
Next make some holes either side of the mask, we found the best spot was just where the ears meet the face and it stayed up pretty well (depending on how much nature may weigh it down, or the paper/card you have used) Measure the little ones head and then attach your string!
